John 15:17
“This is my command: Love each other.”
Dear Friends,
Wow! What a celebration that took place on the final Sunday of October 2023! Thank You for the first-ever “Moresies Award Gala Celebration” We were overwhelmed with winning all the awards! (okay I do believe there was a tie for one reward with Linda Hisey!)
I am writing to express my gratitude for the wonderful and fun retirement party you organized for me. I know there was a tremendous amount of planning, prepping, and practicing! For all those who took part…thank you so much!
It was a joy to see so many of you there and to receive your kind words, cards, and gifts. Your generosity and love deeply touched me.
The Crandall University Scholarship in my name was completely unexpected and overwhelming. Your gifts of more than $30,000 (amazing!) have created an annual student scholarship for one who is feeling called to serve in leadership. I am humbled. Thank you!
You have been more than a church family to me. You have been my friends, my brothers and sisters in Christ, and my co-workers in the ministry. You have supported me, encouraged me, prayed for me, and helped me grow in character, competence, and compassion. You have shared with me the joys and sorrows of life and the blessings, burdens, conflicts, and challenges of serving God.
As an old gospel song puts it, “I don’t regret a mile” You have made my long pastoral journey a joyful adventure of faith and service.
I thank God for each and every one of you, and for the privilege of being your pastor for the past 37 years. You all mean more to me than I think you know. I look forward to seeing how this new chapter of doing life together unfolds. I look forward to staying in touch with you and seeing how God will continue to work in and through you for His glory and kingdom.
Let‘s keep following Jesus! Let’s keep loving one another and others who need the hope of Christ. May God bless you with His grace, peace, truth and love.
Grace,
Your (former) Pastor
Dave
