Annual General Meeting | Recap from Pastor Carolyn
First, thank you to all who came out to our Annual General Meeting last Monday evening – it was encouraging to hear how God has been at work through the ministries this past year and how we are looking forward to what he is going to do this new ministry year.
Something I’d like you to know is about staffing adjustments this ministry year. Aiden Hatchard will move into a new position starting officially in July for a two year term. Site Pastor (Riverview) and Communications Director. Aiden has a vision for Riverview and has already established a pastoral presence there. He also has a vision for a new communications strategy for the church which we look forward to seeing roll out later this summer and into the fall.
Julianna Hisey’s position as Pastor of NextGen and Equipping has been extended starting the end of June for one year. She also plays a key role on Sundays as the Campus Pastoral Presence at our Allison Campus. We know that having a consistent presence with our Nextgens right now is important – and Julianna has invested so much in our students.
We also had our Spending Plan approved and so we are ready to move ahead into the new ministry year! God. Is. Good!

Our New Board Member
Welcome Sheri Andrews to our board!
Sheri is a married mother of 3+ children who works full-time as a pharmacist at The Moncton Hospital.
An “upper Canadian” by birth, Sheri has roots in Prince Edward Island and New England but has called Moncton home since 2003. After her dedication and early exposure to church life through ‘Baby Band” at First Baptist Church in Charlottetown, Sheri was baptized and volunteered with her local churches in various capacities including Sunday School, AWANA, VBS, Divorce Care for Kids, Youth Group, Hospitality and women’s ministry (e.g. Mom2MOM and small groups).
Sheri regularly challenges herself to grow personally, academically, and spiritually through formal and informal means. She is a self-aware work-in-progress that attempts to give the grace to others that she desperately and daily needs from Jesus. Her current projects include: 1) identifying ways to actively love her family and support co-workers, and 2) sharing her honest opinions in a loving manner while exercising her oral and expressive filter to avoid unnecessary conflict.
Sheri and her husband Mark have been attending The Journey Church with their children Declan, Lara and Annika consistently since 2019. Verses with personal meaning for her include: 1 Peter 5:7, James 1:5 and Romans 12:2, among others.
